I just got an offer to work for the MSN search engine for *get this* ONLINE MARKETING!
I guess they just give away free xbox 360's to get more traffic?

To work for ONLINE MARKETING?
What exactly does this involve?
Did you ask them how they found you? It is always interesting question.

Well, I contacted them and here's what they said -
The money is better, but you have to move to New York or Seattle - and they said they would pay for re-location costs.

Yes - I had applied to attend one of their private "get togethers" - basically, every quarter they invite search marketers to Seattle to talk about the MSN engine compared to Google/Yahoo, and ask for input and ideas - so that's how they found my information.
I think it's funny that MSN would hire someone to do online marketing...

Interesting, they do need the marketing They could use an Adsense like program and help you get your sites into google and Yahoo! to take their traffic back...

Congratulations
Nothing wrong with this at all. I presume they also took a look at your work online (I did ) to see what type of results you achieve. As I mentioned before here, you obviously know your stuff very well.
Best of luck if you take it,

Thanks for the support, but I turned them down - I have to admit that their clinet list would be interesting (Nike and Xbox) - but what got me to say no was when I asked about ongoing training - all they said was that I would have unlimited access to their Microsoft library - last time I checked, there is nothing there about SEO - it's all SQL and programming stuff. I also asked about attending confereneces, and they said that I wouldn't have time to do that - BIG flag there.
So, I politely declined and will continue to work in the trenches...

Congratulations mate. That's impressive. As I was just saying to RedCardinal today, it's great to be in demand.
