Yahoo Turns the Corner - or does it?  Reply with quote

It appears that the new boss of Yahoo, Carol Bartz, has helped the business turn the financial corner. Job cuts and a focus on core businesses has seen Quarter 3 profits rise.

The good financial news has to be tempered with the realisation that Yahoo had run up the white flag in the search business. Search revenues fell 19% compared to Q3 2008. Google managed an 8% rise for Adwords over the same period.

I think that now yahoo is targeting on other web services rather than search engine industry ....but google is still depend on the search engine industry..

although google is also try their hand on different thing like browser and other stuff, but still they are stick to the search engine .

I think this is the main reason behind all these financial equations

Yahoo and Search  Reply with quote

Yahoo was the leader in search but did not realise the significance of the rise of Google. Google can experiment with other activities because it generates a growing cash pile from Adwords. Yahoo is going backwards in search and will ultimately become the junior partner of Microsoft.
