How to show proper description when someone searched your we  Reply with quote  

Hello,
I have a 2 months old website and when i search the website name in google
The description shown below the website name is some random text from any of my post.How do i change it to what i want ? I am using Drupal as the content management system.
So where/how should i change so that the entered description appears below my website name in google search results.

You need to add a website description in the meta tags. I am not familiar with Drupal but would assume there is probably a box for entering this information.

You just put the meta tags in your website & try to take the ranking at the top of the various search engines. Now, its the work of Google to show your description.

If the tag is not available in your CMS, it may need to be added... ask your web developer, or take a look at the code of someone else site using the same CMS, copy and add it to your own code in the same place. You'll find it following something like:
<meta name="description" content=

I know the meta description tag and the meta keywords tag are not seen by users. Instead, these tags main purpose is providing meta document data to user agents, such as search engines.
