Crawl Errors in Google Webmaster  Reply with quote

Using SEF component on my Joomla site, the URLs with crawl errors were 301-redirected. A week later, the errors remain. Any suggestion to correct the problem woudl be appreicated. Thanks.

Mod Rewrite  Reply with quote

The Apache server’s mod_rewrite module gives the ability to transparently redirect one URL to another, without the user’s knowledge. This opens up all sorts of possibilities, from simply redirecting old URLs to new addresses, to cleaning up the ‘dirty’ URLs coming from a poor publishing system giving the URLs that are friendlier to both readers and search engines.Sometimes when user need to relocate the web pages, but want to recapture PageRank/link popularity, ranking, and retain visitors who might be lost by an unexpected 404 (Not Found) error code. The only way to save your rankings and visitors is to redirect the old urls to the new urls.

No fake signatures, thanks. ~ Sime
