I want to create one web directory.

Well the first thing you need to realize is there isn't a goldmine in directories. Especially just starting out. But you also need to be relatively skilled with html, php, and mysql. I would also recommend have a little graphic design skill. Once you have all those skills, find yourself a directory script, there are thousands upon thousands, plenty of free, I would recommend an active paid script so you can get help when you'll need it. Then figure out the domain, and get a decent host. GoDaddy and HostGator are NOT good hosts, they are horrible hosts. I recommend 1page, they're inexpensive and pretty quick to respond to all my questions. Then start your butt marketing it, getting plenty of quality backlinks, then get even more backlinks, then spend a couple days getting more backlinks. When you think you've got enough backlinks you need to find more backlinks. Your web directory will be useless without a good quality PageRank.
