Backlinks from Facebook?  Reply with quote

I have noticed some backlinks from FB to a couple of my sites. I didn't think Facebook passed on any link juice. Bit surprised in a nice way, has anyone else seen any backlinks from FB showing up?

You may get a link but it will be a no follow, just the same as twitter, linkedin, google etc.

Why would Google show the back links in the Google Webmasters tool (under the links to your site section) if it didn't think they had any value?

Does Google usually show the no-follow links as valid backlinks to a particular site? I can't say I have witnessed this before.

Hi,
Yes, it is the truth that Google considers the backlinks from facebook. I have read it in an article.
The weight-age given by google to the backlink from facebook (or other networking sites)is not so much to compare it with the backlinks from other web-pages.

Its true that links from Facebook and Twitter are no follow but still Google gives some advantage of traffic and links from these social sites. These do help in improving SERP.

I think if you get links from facebook then it's good for your site, Google does not nofollow links, so somewhere one can get some benefits from these links.

They pass some PageRank to keywords subject to Google's recent "freshen" update. Otherwise they have little longterm value.

I think if you get hyperlinks from myspace then it's excellent for your website, The search engines does not search engines hyperlinks, so somewhere one can get some advantages from these hyperlinks.

Facebook is the best way for promoting your business. As far as I know, links from Facebook are no-follow links which does not any link juice to you website but it is a good way of reaching your target audience by posting good quality information along with website's link and pictures.
