long tail keywords  Reply with quote

Sometimes you get confuse whether you should focus on short tail keywords which are more competitive or should go for long tail keywords in good quantity. General keywords are more common and have more competition as people know achieving those keywords can bring you good traffic and big players in industry might have kept eye on those keywords which is difficult to achieve. Even after achieving that keyword with hard and long time of effort, if change in algorithm effects your ranking, all your efforts would be gone into dust.
So in my opinion, you should select short tail keywords in good quantity rather than most general two or three keywords.

Long tail keyword phrases are ones that donít have as large a search volume as more popular terms, but have enough volume to make a difference in your SEO marketing efforts.

The best way to find long tail keywords is with a keyword research tool. The one I prefer to use is AdWords. This is a Google tool that allows advertisers to bid on keyword phrases for advertising. But it works really well as a keyword research tool as well.
