Mod Rewrite Trick for CGI  Reply with quote

So perhaps you've done some Mod Rewrite on your HTML pages and everything is working great, but then you try to use your new powers to beautify some URLs for your PHP scripts, but find that it's not working.

What gives?

Well, there is a special little incantation that you need to add into your spell or the magic may not be working. Here's an example...

RewriteRule ^kw/(.*).html$ yourscript.php?arg1=25&arg2=all&query=$1 [T=application/x-httpd-cgi]

The special part is this at the end of the Rule line tells MR that the target is actually a script and not just a regular document...

[T=application/x-httpd-cgi]
