This is a good question.

Is the best bet to just blast Y with thousands of rotating links, or is there any sophistication to their link popularity calculations?

From what I understand, basically any link works for Yahoo. Aging does not matter much. Theme doesn't matter much. Am I 100% sure? No, and this is why I asked the question.

- From all of my experience, you will get a slight (.0001%) boost if you have a link from an "older" link that has the same relevance as a newer one.

Seeing how the digital point coop owns Yahoo (not literally) it seems that Yahoo likes new links nearly as much (or as much) as older links.
