YPN ads not always relevant  Reply with quote

I'm not using this on my site, but I've noticed that on some sites the Yahoo Publisher Network ads aren't always relevant. Has anyone else noticed this? I know that it's in beta, and there aren't as many advertisers yet, so this might be why.

It will probably always happen from time to time.

Even old AdSense has surprised me with some terrible of-the-wall targetting on rare occasions, although ususally it works well.

One thing that will help the lack of inventory you mentioned in YPN is time.

The only time I've seen Yahoo ads that weren't relevant was on my own site when I didn't focus on the ads I wanted to serve on those pages.

Noramlly, I use the Computers/Internet setting for all of my ads, and everything is dead-on.

i find that to get relevant ads the page really needs to be heavily SEO'd. (good thing you are here ;)) anyway, if you don't have a SEO'd site, try that. it could help a lot, or maybe not...
