MSN favorable PR  Reply with quote

When I get people to my site from MSN search I always check out the keywords they used, and where my site ranked for those keywords. It seems like on MSN I am always near the top for keywords, but use the same keywords on google and I'm nowhere to be found.

Does this happen to you

Yep, something very similar happens to me. I have two sites, ranked number 11 and 16 repsectively, on msn, but no where near that on google.

You can get sites in MSN's SERPs quickly, I just set up a new site last week and it's already on the first page of results for a keyword.

MSN very easy
Yahoo easy
Google not so easy
Forum links alone will not cut it, vary your link sources. Also if site is new you may in Google sandbox. Took me 11 months to rank well in the big G.
Best this is to keep slowly and steady link building, try directory submissions and writing articles. Be patient!

I also have the same experience
Think it is the sandbox effect
For my sites at least, I find Yahoo is more difficult than Google.

Ammon,

its certainly possible to rank well in all three engines. You have to understand how they work. In my opinion I believe Jagger has certainly brought Google closer to the other two.

I agree with you , it is possible to rank well in three search engines .
Just you have to consider all points which these search engines considers .
Google considers backlinks & updated content .

Site wide links are still much stronger in Google, and article links and blogs are currently dominating everything. In MSN blog spam OWNS. PM me for details.

Google appears to like elderly domains but at the end of the day, message is going to provide keywords as well as topics which could be searched.
