YPN Honeymoon Over?  Reply with quote

I got my first YPN check eariler this month, finally got around to taking it to the bank. That's when I realized that Yahoo had made the incorrect decision to make the check out to my business name. While my wife and I do have a business account, I don't have one with this particular business name, so I can't cash or deposit the check. Called YPN support, and the rep was helpful, although the resolution was to mail the check back and wait for them to reissue in my name. Would have been a lot easier if they had asked who to make the check out to, like other companies do. Oh well, it's Beta.

And speaking of Beta, how are things with you and YPN? I'm seeing that CPMs are sliding down down down. Whereas before, I might see CPMs in the $30-$50 range, for past few days they've been hovering around $6 CPM range. Ouch, now it's looking like AdSense will pay more, maybe in the $10 CPM range for this particular set of ads. Looks like I maybe be coming back to AdSense. Even if earnings were the same, AdSense provides more relevant ads still and I get my money sooner, even if I didn't have to send my check back...

How's YPN treating you, lately?

Still no acceptance letter. No denial, either, but you know how that is..

Same with me no response, and I cant figure why. Happy to say my superbowl themed sites got a clickarama week going on....go steelers, go panthers, go deahawks, go anybody.....just go clicks.

PS:why does yahoo never write back?

Sorry to hear about your troubles, I haven't encountered any of those issues *yet* -

My CPMs have stayed consistant - I really think it's because I get a ton of Google related ads on my site, and those pay out pretty well.

Since it's still in beta, there will be issues for them to work out, but at least they respond any time I've contacted them, and I've had 5 phone conversations as well as about 10 email conversations, maybe I am just getting lucky.

Go Steelers Cool

I just started putting the ads on my site. I hope the honeymoon isn't over yet!

I am having a lot of good luck with Yahoo Payout is higher.. IF you can find site with relevant ads... I am just wondering if once yahoo goes full live that payouts will tank... I hope they hold steady and that will make adsense increase :) because if payout stays the same and they increase relevance all my ads will go to YPN right now i am about 50/50. Luckily this is non issue for me as my business name is same as my account :)

I'm quite disappointed in the relevancy, even allowing ages to pin down the theme.

i agree not only relevancy but sometimes it takes a few days to be relevant you get the wonderful run of network ads.....

If you are able to get relevant it is good... but i agree relevancy can make the difference of using Y or not.

I'm going to give it about a week. Right now I have them running only 50% of the time on a few of my sites (some only 20%). Once they show relevancy AND a higher CPM, I'll adjust them accordingly.

it would be great to have a model scanner from the companies to actually test out how our page designs with keywords and meta return results to yahoo to display ads

sometimes its not the adcompany but the site

Yes two sites with same target but having different articles can have a wide range of differences.

I think mine has stayed up since most of the ads that appear on my sites are Google related - just Yahoo returning the favor.
