Content is King - for webmasters.  Reply with quote

Creating good content is one of the main problems for webmasters. Now article websites solve the problem of webmasters.

Publishers and webmasters gain easy access to best articles for reprint on your ezines and/or websites. Please post your opinion about this article website.

For me, Content that converts is king - I can write spiel all day long - but if you can't convince the reader that what you have to offer will make their life easier, then it doesn't matter how many top rankings you have or how much traffic your site gets.

You can create original content on your website and then create a special articles webpage, then write guidelines for other webmasters and article websites just how to use them and add links to your website. :)

Free article directories are not unique content and do not help as far as SEO goes. Free articles hurt more then help since most require a BIO and link in the article, why would you want to send your visitors to another site? If you're looking for Unique content you need to either hire a writer or purchase content from places like Constant-Content. We are still the only unique article directory for webmasters.

Not everyone is selling a product though.... Some people just use content as an attraction for traffic.

Then you have the people that do sell something, this content doesn’t have to sell a person. Many people surround their site with original content and sell something related. The idea is the person finds the article on creating a rock garden, then notices you sell garden supplies and purchases something. In this approach you don’t need to sell the customer or convince them of anything. 70% of our customers do just this. They surround an eCommerce site with related content and become a info center as well as a place that sells products related to the content.

content -

Right you are, it seems like the trend online is to sell through education. By being a source of information to people for free, they trust a source that provides them with good information, while also not trying to pitch them the whole time.

Here is a perfect example from an email newsletter I get called CopyBlogger (I would highly recommend a subscription)

Don’t Sell… Teach -
In the beginning, people spoke with one another directly in the local marketplace, and the merchants taught those people about the value of their wares.

And as things began to be sold one to many, and the brand was born to assure buyers of quality and consistency, publicizing that brand to lots of people was all that was necessary.

But it was soon not good enough.

And Claude Hopkins said, “Let us sell with scientific advertising,” and there was systematic testing for determining which words worked best when selling a product.

And Hopkins saw that testing was good, as it increased advertising response and efficiency.

And David Ogilvy said, “Let us sell image, not product,” and behold, there were television commercials that focused on brand image, not features or benefits.

And Ogilvy saw that selling brand image was good, because it told people stories bigger than the product itself.

And Raymond Rubicam said, “Let us hire this Gallup fellow, and sell based on demographic profiles,” and the separate worlds of scientific advertising and brand image would eventually become melded together into one powerful force.

And years later, many, many advertising agencies saw that it was good, and so did Nike.

And Seth Godin said, “Let us not interrupt, but instead sell by permission,” as smart marketers began to realize that the Internet was somehow very different than other media.

And Godin saw that permission marketing was good, because consensual relationship selling, mixed with tested copy and demographically-targeted stories, boosts response significantly.

But then something happened.

People began to efficiently speak with one another directly in a virtual marketplace.

And they refused to be marketed at, as they were as media savvy as the marketers themselves (and often more so).

And permission and trust were harder to find online, as they had been abused.

And so some random guy, who doesn’t even belong on the same page as those above, said “Let us not sell, but instead teach,” based on his experience using educational copywriting to begin relationships that lead to sales.

And so he wrote a tutorial series called Tutorial Marketing, about a strategy that places a blog at the very center of your online marketing efforts, since good tutorials not only sell, but also attract vital links and traffic as well.

And you’ll be the one who determines if it’s good, right?

Unfortunately, I still haven't found any article sites for the UK real estate/rental market.

I find most articles in the popular article sites US centric :(

Content is king only if you're trying to make it to first place for a very competitive niche.
Other than that, get or buy some quality links and you'll need no relevant content whatsoever :)

Given the latest personalized search offering from Google, good original content is even more important.

duplicate content penalty? I submit article and don't seem to notice any penalty for dup content. As long as the content on your site is unique your are ok.
