$250 Directory Budget - Where to spend it?  Reply with quote

I have a client who is looking to spend $250 on one-off fee, paid directories. I'll probably pick some strong directories which are reasonably priced from the Aviva Directory list but wondered if anyone has some advice on which ones to choose? Choosing your own anchor text would be a great advantage, deeplinks would also be good but not essential.

kev,

a good post. Having by and large avoided paying for directory listings I was thinking along the same lines.

Below is a service that was recommended to me by serveral other SEO's who have used it with nothing but good things to say. I have no affiliation with the company.

http://www.online-internet-marketing-services.com

They do manual directory submissions. They are also english speaking.

They use the following ranked directories:

PR 8 : 3 directories
PR 7 : 4 directories
PR 6 : 40 directories
PR 5 : 155 directories
PR 4 : 382 directories
PR 3 : 416 directories
PR 2 : 186 directories
PR 1 : 54 directories
PR 0 : 124 directories

Standard Packages

100 Submissions :: $29 USD
250 Submissions :: $65 USD
500 Submissions :: $125 USD

Premium Packages

100 Submissions :: $35 USD
250 Submissions :: $75 USD
500 Submissions :: $150 USD

They also offer deep-links, this means you can use a sub-page of your site, instead of the homepage.

Deep-Linking Packages

100 Submissions :: $35 USD
250 Submissions :: $75 USD

So for about 200 dollars you can get your site manually submitted to 750+ directories.

I hope this is helpful.

Are directories the only option to spend $250 on? I get the feeling that the relative weight of the links from directories is going to be diluted due to enormous number of new directories we see launched everyday.

justicewhite, I agree but I've seen some good results achieved based on mainly paid directory links so I think there's definitely some value there if you choose the right listings.

Thanks Ian, that looks like a pretty good service but I assume these are all free directories they are submitting to, I'm looking more for a smaller amount of quality directories really.

Thanks David, I'll take a look through the sites suggested in that thread. I'm only looking for one-off listing fees at the moment but your directory looks to have improved quite a bit recently.

I know what you are saying Kev, I prefer the one off jobs, I probably loose out on quite a few submissions beacuse of it, if I can get 1000 sites listed that is $20,000 a year and that is without any deep links or featured listings, I am upto about 90.

Yeah I agree, I'd probably do the same myself if I ran a directory to get repeat payments. As a buyer though I'd much prefer to go for a one-off fee.

Hello,

I'm Michiel Van Kets.
Born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium and now loving the live here in Phuket, Thailand.

I'm the person Ian C refers to.
and here's the tread in WWS : http://www.webworkshop.net/seoforum/viewtopic.php?t=14494

Recently we compared paid versus free submissions on the forum and I still think that free directories will surely be the better option. in fact Google prefers the free directories, this because it's the best guarantee that the site was accepted because it's quality and not because it was paid.

And yes, for $250 we can do a whole lot of submissions.

Meanwhile we expanded the packages and we're actually cheaper now, while we have even more top directories with high PR in our list.

greetings,

Michiel

with such a budget I would buy that a 500 submission package (again you can see at WWS forum under Manual Submission Services Forum) there's a guy name Tony which is recommended by many of that forum members.

And with the extra $200 you've got I would invest $150 in life / 1 year links and $50 in a few more links you can find at DP link sales forum.

Regarding the paid directories - on BOTW you can get a PR6 link for a year for $70 and on aviva directory you can get a PR5 link for $50 / year.

the rest - I would go on the list of paid directories and simply sort the ones which looks like someone actually cares about that directory and it is not stuffed with links already.

I would test your services myself, but prices are very high comparing to what others are offering.

it depends how you look at it, my prices are the same as most companies, it's just Tony, who asks much less then anybody else, but if you read the comments, it's also the quality and the service that's much less then us ...

anyway, it's just $100 for 500 submissions ... if you think that's too much, then that's it ... I think it's already ridiculous cheap compared to the value it will give to your site and the work it takes us to get this done, not mentioning all the research and service ...
