I was successfully rank a website to # 4 in Yahoo out of 7,100,000 listing for a targeted keyword on 5th Dec. Then on 7 Dec , i noticed that it drops to #61 out of 6,100,000 listing. Then, on 10th Dec, i found it back to # 3 out of 6,900,000 listing. And today , 12th Dec , i found it drop to #21 out of 7,020,000 listing.
anyone know why yahoo is not stable on it total search result listing and the reason of my website raise and drop ? During the above period, i didn't do any Search engine optimization work for the above domain.

Yahoo traffic is not steady and sometimes drastically....
We are a high volume site in a very competitive industry. Our listings in Google remain in the top five or ten very consistently. In yahoo, our top keywords will bounce from top five to 20th or 30th with no known reason. When we are off the first page, Yahoo places many completely non-relevant ads in the top positions - some with broken links!
Yahoo tells us there is nothing wrong and we are just seeing the impact of them tweaking their algorithm.
