What are the best factor to get good rank in yahoo? Does Back link importance in yahoo is like google or on page optimization is still the best factor for yahoo.

Yahoo is more on page than either Google or MSN Live. Make sure you get your content and meta tags in alignment.

Yeah, even MSN is following the Google footsteps in counting the inbound links for the rankings but Yahoo still loved the contents on pages.

I must agree that content on yahoo amatters alot.
I have not a huge amount of links but I do have alot of quality content and I am on the first and second page of yahoo for alot of my keywords

It is still assuring to see that the onpage factors are still playing important roles in Yahoo rankings because I just thought Yahoo too were now like Google, to count the links for setting web rankings. |

I have been working on one of my sites for quite some time and I just finished mod_rewriting the URLS and that has made a huge difference in how Yahoo and MSN look at my site. I used to have dynamic URLS and since then the results have been good.

agree, and i think you need some back links from yahoo directory. for ranking in yahoo you need rich content not duplicate content use for ranking in yahoo.

I think you must concentrate on every factor of SEO ....Do the best of all things such as on page optimization, get quality backlinks , unique content and much more ..... i think you must not wait for doing only one thing and must go for all .....because all that is a part of seo and cant get results on one.
Whats the problem in doing total Seo ? Dont just don't concentrate on ranking in Yahoo only.

I believe that Yahoo's algorithm is changing. It is losing ground in the UK to Google and Bing and is trying to bring their rankings more in line.

First, keep in mind that much of Y!'s current search is built upon the old Inktomi engine and that used link analysis long before Google existed; it's only gotten more sophisticated with time. The question might well be "Has Google caught up with Yahoo when it comes to telling quality links from crap links?" I'm really not so sure. Either way, the consequences of dodgy linking is usually much more readily apparent at Y!.
Second, it really isn't that hard to detect. Various forms and applications of network analysis are quite mature and have been used for many years to study and reveal relationships.
As for MSN, I'm not sure if the product is built out enough as yet to determine what the heck they're doing. |
