Google continues Growth at Yahoo's expense  Reply with quote

Figures just released from Internet research company Hitwise indicate that Google continues to grow at the expense of Yahoo and MSN.

Market share figures for May show Google accounting for 68% of US searches and 87% of UK searches.

Within the UK Yahoo and MSN are really becoming minor players. Yahoo's share has slipped to 4.09% and MSN's to 3.72%.

Within the US, Yahoo's share has slipped to less than 20%.

Google is a huge brand name now in the UK and is most people first choice search, i dont think Yahoo or MSN will ever catch up.

Google will always be #1 in search because thats what they have been focused on since they started.

MSN needs to give up on search and focus on software.

And Yahoo to me seems like just a big social network/directory/host and domain provider/internet provider/what ever the hell else they do, than a search provider.
The only time I use Yahoo is to check a old email account that I've had since they started Yahoo Mail.
