One of the best and most inexpensive ways to market your business locally is by word of mouth. Word spreads fast and this can be beneficial for freelancers who are trying to gain new clients and increase their popularity.Another way to get the word out regarding your freelance business in your local area is to take advantage of free local magazines/newspapers available in your vicinity.

In your views, which is the best way of offline marketing?

Just like online promotion, you should never focus on one singular lead generation method. You need to balance your risk by having multiple sources of business.

Involvement in local business networks, advertising in local papers are great. Some other approaches are running free training courses, sponsorships, environmental advertising, partnerships with local businesses. Eg. graphic design studios - offer them a $ per lead or a subcontracting deal if clients ask them about a web site and they don't offer that service.

Long story short, there a plenty of ways to promote your business offline, some will work better for you than others, but don't limit yourself to one and continue to test the waters with new methods.

The bulk of my offline marketing is with business networks. I belong to a couple that are pretty active, with lots of opportunities to meet and network with local businesses. Then when I meet someone and exchange business cards, I go back to my office and see if they are on Facebook and LinkedIn and connect to them there. That way I can get even more value out of my offline networking by having a continual connection with the people I meet.

The best way for starters are meetup groups in your industry and other meetup groups that might be able to use your style of design. Though offline is important, so that you have that one on one, it is just as important to have an online presence.

Hi..
Yellow pages is the original Google. Go where they are looking. I know from experience with my clients that they simply don't have the numbers anymore, but it's still important for a certain demographic..

I think it is best to stick with online marketing - offline marketing is often not very targeted, and usually cost a lot more than you would think. Cool

We agree with you...Online Marketing is Targeted. Just imagine… customers are actually searching for your product or service. We cannot choose only one because its very difficult to get ranking with just one method. So always use all methods.

I think it's good to join a local business network. You meet lots of business people there who may need your services. Or go to seminars on how to run a business. New businesses usually need a website and advise on how to rank better online (if you are in that business). There are usually also quite a few networking events. You find lots of these events in your area at linked In. Another way is to do a fun presentation in your skills area.

Old pages is the originative Google. Go where they are superficial. I jazz from live with my clients that they just don't soul the numbers anymore, but it's still weighty for a fated demographic..
