Keywords singular and plural?  Reply with quote

We know that plural and singular keyword differ in search competition and google consider it as two different keywords. But when I search for companies, it shows both the results company as well as companies. Why search engine not shows only result for companies?

Hi,
I agreed with Sonu, but this is not very often that search results will show the same results.

Hi..

As Per my experience Google considers singular and plural form of the same keyword as two different keyword. But it will be better if we will always choose the plural form because in this way we can target both form of the same keyword.

Thanks

But if your plural is more than the addition of an “s” or “es”, never fear. In reality, you can target either and still enjoy a high ranking. Google is smart enough to identify the relationship between plural and singular.

Thanks

Point is valid that why search engine shows both results for companies and company. Normally search engine takes singular and plural as two different keywords but i think for very general words like, Company, color etc it shows both results singular and plural.

Yes most of the times it shows the same results. I think that long tail keywords are much better to use, they also contains single or small keywords inside them.
